Dr Jo underwent her hospital residency years at Townsville University Hospital (TUH), followed by registrar years in the remote areas of St. George and rural areas of Mackay under Australian GP Training (AGPT) via James Cook University Regional Training Office (JCU RTO). She gained her Fellowship as a Specialist in General Practice. She worked as an Emergency Medicine Consultant/SMO in regional EDs in North Queensland. She also has dedicated years working in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service.

She has a keen interest in Chronic Disease Management, Indigenous Health, Geriatrics, Women’s Health, Mental Health, Paediatrics, Palliative Care, and Skin cancer medicine which includes skin flaps/grafts.
